On October 10, here in Jackson, young people ages 12-17 will participate in a lottery for 70 permits to shoot an elk on the National Elk Refuge.
We believe the elk should live. And we're prepared to put our money where our mouth is.
The first young lottery winner who turns his or her elk permit and hunting license in to The Fund for Animals' Jackson office, and promises not to hunt for the remainder of the season, will receive from us a brand-new mountain bike, up to $1,000 in value.
There are better ways to enjoy the outdoors without killing the animals who live there. Give the elk a break, and try out the brakes on your new bike.
